Uninhibited

I heard something this morning that brought a smile to my face. I heard children singing God's praises at the top of their lungs. They weren't worried about what other people thought or what other people said. They were having fun praising God.

Of course, that is one of our goals in VBS. To lead children to experience God in a new and life-changing way. They heard the A-B-C's of salvation:

A - admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent and turn away from your sin.
B - believe that Jesus is God's Son and that God sent Jesus to save everyone.
C - confess your faith in Jesus as your Savior and Lord and let him live with you forevermore.

Can you imagine? A room full of kids just singing out as loud as they can words like:

- I'm gonna tell the world how wonderful He is; let His praise be on my lips.

- On the Obey Highway, we'll follow the directions that Jesus gave.

- Telling other people what God has done, making disciples in every nation.

- But, Lord, I know you'll guide me, you'll stay right beside me. And you'll show me how to make it.

I am truly blessed to have been part of this time. And did I mention that none of these kids are older than 9 years old? I think we all could learn something from these kids about lifting our voices in praise to our Lord. They were uninhibited and we should be also. Worship should be from the heart. And true worship does not notice what the person next to you is doing. True worship does not care what other people might think. True worship is about getting all of our heart, soul, and mind focused on Almighty God. And when we do that, we'll be able to worship uninhibited.

Give it a try at the very next opportunity you have to worship. Worship with abandonment. Let your Lord know how much you love Him. I think it might change your life. Actually, I know it will change your life.
