Blessed my socks off

Yup, there is one of my socks that got blessed right off (ok, actually it is just a picture of a sock I found on the net). How did God bless my socks off? He used some very precious people to take care of my heating needs for the winter.

I was blessed with perfection times 2! These very special people brought me pickup loads of wood for my wood furnace. There were 2 pickups and each of them brought 7 loads of wood. 7 is considered the perfect number, so I was blessed with perfection 2 times!

Now, I didn't make this entry to just brag about how awesome people are. I firmly believe these folks were being obedient to God's call on their lives. How do I know that? Well, let me explain. Ever since Hurricane Katrina hit and the gas prices have gone through the roof, my personal budget has been getting tighter and tighter. Please don't hear complaining. God put me here and He hasn't called me away. I have been striving to be content in what God has provided, yet, we were asking God how we were going to pay for our firewood this winter. I trusted that God would take care of it, but wondered how He would do so. Then, these friends show up with all that wood. They gave it us. There were no strings attached.

Excuse me for a moment as I weep over just how awesome God is! He took care of my needs in a way that I had not thought or imagined. He took care of my needs in a uniquely God-like way. I honestly cannot stop thanking Him for that blessing.

That is why I say I had my socks blessed off. This is not the only way God has been blessing our family this year. God has been providing vegetables and meat. God has been providing. I don't know exactly why my faith was so weak, but what I used to say with head knowledge, I now say with conviction, "Our God Reigns!"

If you have never had your socks blessed off, pray for a need and wait for God to answer. If the goodness of God doesn't bring a tear to your eye, I don't know what will.

Thank you, Lord, for your perfect provision.
