A Thousand Good Things

I returned from my trip with a clear idea of how to proceed. I knew what I needed to do and mostly how to do it. But I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. This week, I have had more meetings than I care to admit. I have also been informed of several visits I need to make. I am feeling the pressure of 168 (that's 24 hours X 7 days). Some of those hours belong to my family. Some of those hours are for rest. Some of those hours are for my ministry. Yet all of those hours belong to God. They are not mine to claim. At best, I can strive to be a good steward of this very limited resource.

Which reminds me of the old quote I have heard over and over again: "You are so heavenly busy you're no earthly good." In other words, I am so busy doing things for the kingdom that I am not do anything to build the kingdom. I really need to remember the things God spoke to me last week. What is the one thing that is most important on this planet? It is seeing those that are lost and dying come to saving faith in Jesus.

Our Lord said it much better than I am saying it.

He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
--Acts 1:7-8
